Exercise 3 · Write an AI-assisted Product Brief
| Time | 12 minutes, after the AI tools and prompting slides |
|---|---|
| Blueprint sections | 7 AI prompt log, 8 Product requirements |
| You need | Your AI assistant; your Blueprint with sections 1 to 6 filled in |
| You leave with | A short Product Brief: vision, first features, MVP scope and what is left out, plus a log of your prompts and decisions |
| Safety tip | Review the AI's output before you use it. You decide what goes in the brief, not the AI |
Where you are
You know the problem, the vision and the riskiest assumption. Now you use AI to turn them into a short brief that says what the first version will and will not do. The skill here is not writing the prompt; it is reviewing what comes back and making the decisions yourself.
What you will make
A Product Brief with four parts: the vision, a short list of initial features, the MVP scope (the few features the first version really needs) and explicit exclusions (what you are deliberately leaving out, and why). You also keep an AI prompt log: the prompts you used and what you decided after each one.
For TutorDesk, the MVP scope: a tutor shares a booking page; a parent picks a free slot; the tutor sees the booking. Left out for now: payments, reminders, a mobile app and group lessons, because none of them is needed to test whether parents will book by themselves.
